Rihanna’s Anticipated Documentary Is Ready (Well, Kinda)
Rihanna’s documentary is finished, and we’re ready to receive it. But, the film needs just one more thing before it hits our screens: the green light from the bad gal herself.
The film’s director Peter Berg confirmed the highly-anticipated project is “done and sold” but pending the Barbadian songstress’ approval.

“She’s a perfectionist, so we keep adding,” Berg stated in a recent interview. “It’s been six and a half years of filming, so, yeah, it’s ready to come out.”
“We’re just waiting on her to say, ‘Yeah, let’s do it.’ I don’t know. Maybe it’ll be a 10-year project.” Patience is key, I guess.

The film includes over 1,000 hours of footage documenting the rise and, well, rise of the multihyphenate, down to the forging of her billion-dollar Fenty empire.
Berg, who worked with Rihanna on Battleship, described the documentary as “more a character study than a music film” by providing a raw look into the musician’s life and legacy.

It’s unknown whether Rihanna’s documentary will include more Fenty Baby content or even glimpses at her forthcoming Super Bowl Halftime performance. Nonetheless, I’m sure the man behind the sports classic Friday Night Lights can handle the task.

Once the movie receives the Fenty thumbs-up followed by an official release date, the documentary will air on Amazon Prime Video. No shocker there, seeing as the streaming platform exclusively streams Rih’s Savage X Fenty spectacles ever year.
Talks of Rihanna’s documentary began to swirl in 2015, with the rumored mill building on the hype in the years to come. A few sources even teased a Summer 2021 release (obviously, that ain’t happen).
With the film finished and awaiting Rihanna’s blessing, hopefully, we’ll see it before the year is out. Until then, catch us on the countdown to the Fenty Bowl.
