Five Years Since Its Closing, Relive The Story of colette Here
Five years ago, when colette closed its doors for the last time on Rue Saint-Honoré, Paris not only lost a highly influential retail location but a cultural institution. And if you are also still in a state of mourning, we’re offering the chance to stream our hour-long documentary charting its impact on the world of fashion.
Widely regarded as the first-ever concept shop, colette became an iconic retail destination over a 20-year period, famed for its championing of young designers and fusing luxury fashion with everything from streetwear to art — an approach that has since been widely adopted.

It’s a story that couldn’t be left untold and the documentary colette mon amour provides an inside look at the days leading up to the closing of the store with testimonials from the likes of Futura 2000, Pharrell Williams, and the late Virgil Abloh. This delivers an in-depth account of its huge influence on the fashion industry and today’s youth culture.
Directed by Hugues Lawson-Body, and co-produced by Highsnobiety and La PAC, it was initially shown in screenings around the world. But now, to commemorate the 5th anniversary of the store closing in 2017, the documentary is available to stream online for free for a limited time only.
Check out the full documentary below in a variety of languages, available to watch for five days starting on December 20 at 12 pm CET.
