Pitti Uomo 102 Delivers The Fits

Pitti Immagine Uomo was back again for its 102nd edition in Florence last week. The legendary menswear tradeshow whilst known for its expertise as a place for buyers and designers to mix and mingle, this edition showed its strength in introducing burgeoning designers and varied collections to the arena. From brands specialised in sustainability to new Ukraine designers to take note of, over the years Pitti has embraced freshness on the scene with open arms. This can be seen in the fits of its attendees too. In the past Pitti has been doused with what are commonly known as ‘Pitti Peacocks’. Men dressed in head-to-toe tailoring, shaking their tail feathers for the multitudes of photographers that flock to the event to capture them despite the escalating temperatures. Whilst there is always a place for a good suit, the peacocks had started to feel fussy and out dated. The last few years has seen an evolution, with a new generation of Pitti attendees bringing some much needed verve and differentiation to the streets of Florence.

This year trends such as open work fabrics, casual prep, dopamine dressing with bright and bold prints, and a more relaxed take on tailoring were abundant among this year’s fun fits.
